Bahia Gigante
Bahia Gigante (Giant Bay) is a small community located on the Nicoya
Peninsula, 9 Km. South of Playa Naranjo (where the ferry comes from
Puntarenas). The giant bay is protected by Gypsy Island and Gigante
Point, so that the waters of the bay are practically waveless (ideal
for water-skiing, kayaking, etc.) This area
packs more islands than anywhere in Costa Rica's coasts, and they
attract a variety of sightseers and boat traffic. Bahia Gigante is
dominated by the bay and surrounded by forested hills with wildlife,
of which only a few are populated. A small hotel was constructed 20
years ago and provides restaurant and pool service. To the west of the
Hotel is a gated residential community comprising large lots with
owners from Canada (3) U.S.A. (3) Spain/France (1), Holland (2).
Trails lead through a park to a small waterfall.
